I am in the process of building the following server:

- Power Supply: Corsair Professional Series HX750 750W ATX Fully Modular 80PLUS Gold Power
- Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-V Pro P8Z77-V PRO - Motherboards - ASUS

- CPU: Intel Core i7 3770 Quad Core Hyperthreading Processor LGA1155 3.4GHZ Ivy Bridge 8MB Retail

Question:
When I attempt to install VSphere 5.1 it complains about the NIC Adapter, so I presume that it is not discovering the onboard NiC
- Intel 82579V, 1 x Gigabit LAN Controller(s)
- Intel LAN- Dual interconnect between the Integrated LAN controller and Physical Layer (PHY)
How can I enable VSphere 5.1 to be able to use this NIC?
Question:
If I were to go but a standalone one port 10/100/1000 NIC adapter, which NIC adapter should I get, I am looking at the compatibility guide and I get lost... I would like to get a new NIC from newegg or somewhere, but which one?
My thought process is to buy the additional NIC to get past the installation, then once installed I imagine I can play with the driver to see if I can get the onboard mobo NIC to work, if it does I will use one NIC for VCenter and the other for VM's
