I am trying to set up a home lab to try out VSphere 5.0 features and prepare for VCP5.
It is my understanding that ESXi 5.0 can be can be created on workstation 7.1, so tried created one. when I create a VM on the ESXi and try adding OS to the VM, it fails with a number of issues with processors not supporting BT or unsupported x64 operation etc.
AMD Phenom ii x4 955 processor 3.2 ghz 4 cores x64 8Gb RAM
Intel core 2 duo 6420 2.13 Ghz x64 4 GB RAM
can someone help me please with a good suggestion for setting up a home lab to try out these features please ? I cant spend a lot of money. I like this technology and would like to try this out in a manner that is most economical. would be really grateful for any guidance.
